I was just wondering, as I am getting a baby corn snake and at first it will be in a plastic viv which is smaller than the heat mats i bought, does it matter if the heat mat is outside the viv underneath it? |

Hi, maybe don't put the whole viv on the mat, leave a 1/3 off so it has somewhere cooler if it needs too. |

Hi and welcome.
I have my mat outside the Plastic faun and i have the stat inside to make sure it's getting the right temp in the faun. Look at Little Mick's guide hear to get a better idea of how to do this.

If you haven't already grab a digital thermometer and band it to the thermostat sensor so you can check its cutting in and out at the right temp.
I hope you have fun with your first snake. |
