I have a 7 year old male carolina. Nothing has changed in set-up temps etc.
He shed today about 3pm. Nothing unusual noticed.

However, since his shed he has been twitching quite a lot, has been VERY active ( A lot more than usual and a lot faster).
Also i've just been watching him and he seems to be trying to bite himself about two thirds of the way down his body.

I can't see any signs of shed left on him.

Any suggestions?

My old kingsnake does that... she is a bit dippy though.

Twitching can be mating behaviour; perhaps he's seeing himself as competition?
Just a thought

Have you checked for mites or changed substrate lately. Or is he excited for breeding season. Or anything in viv broken and has cut him slightly?
