Can you fill us in a bit more on your snake's set-up Jay? Number of hides; whether you have a heatmat, controlled by a stat and monitored by a digital thermometer; what the temp is in the warm end; etc. Did you leave him for a week to settle in, with no handling or feeding?

First I would say don't worry, although that's really hard to do. I was in EXACTLY the same position with my first corn....brought him home having been told he was a good feeder and he refused to eat. It went on for 13 weeks ! That's when I found this forum and discovered that it was what Luke has suggested....it was breeding season and he was more interested in finding a female than eating . If that's the case with your snake he will be showing breeding season behaviour - roaming around his viv, trying to escape, rubbing his nose up and down the glass.

Second, don't offer him food more often than the days he's supposed to be fed....that will just stress him out and he's more likely to refuse.

Third, same as first , try not to worry!! Corns can go a long time without eating....as I said mine went 13 weeks that first year and he's done the same each year. We just need to discover why he isn't eating. And the more information you can give us, the easier it'll be .

your snake wont starve itself to death. As Luke said it is breeding season, which puts alot of males off eating. I had experience with a male who refused for just about 5 months. He never lost any rapid weight, was plenty hydrated. He was just more interested in getting a lady than eating/ (he was an ex breeder).

What is your set up like? Temps etc?

He could also possibly still be settling in, which will effect his eating too. Some snakes just take longer than others to settle in and start eating properly. x
