As above... poor Little T is beside himself. He'd been out, roaming his viv constantly now for quite some time. He's managed to rip a scale of the top of his head, and I noticed today, he's damaged several other scales in various places, in his constant search for a way into Bazil's viv.
He still eats, though reluctantly, so at least that's good.
On one hand, it's nice to see him out and about, on the other, I feel really sorry for him. I made a point of changing his water first, because if I change Bazil's first, and then T's, he'll sit and sniff his water bowl, where I touched it, for ages ( even though I wash my hands in between ! ) - he can still smell, that I touched HER water bowl - how?
So, anyway, just wondered, when he'll go back to normal?

Your question got me looking back over Kellog's notes and shows how much it differs Sonia. When I got him it kicked off breeding season behaviour for the first time, he went from 13th April til 10th July. As a new owner who knew very little you can imagine what that did to me  . I'm sure it was the move that caused it though because since then he's started earlier in the year, the next year it was March and he ate beginning of June. Then beginning of March again til mid May. End of February to end of April. And this year end of February and he's still acting up. He has eaten once this time, a small. Actually it's interesting looking at his notes, he seems to be starting earlier each year.
I know its lovely seeing them out and about, but it does get hard to watch....the constant nose rubbing and futile attempts to escape  . Don't worry too much about the scale damage. It may mean he'll shed sooner than expected and more often, to heal it.
Sorry I can't give you an exact answer....we just have to wait it out. But at least we know it will end.

Apollo is still doing a little nose rubbing himself but not as bad as it sounds Little T is Even though he's had a few locks with Kali, he wants to be looking for the girls. He's still eating though which I'm pleased (and surprised) about. I'm looking forward to the end too, even though his behaviour isn't as intense as it could be he started in December.
Although he doesn't look on the chubby side anymore, I guess all the exercise has helped! |

Thank you, all. That sound scary, Kellog, I'd have been besides myself. At least Little T is still eating, but he's been going hyper since end of January/ beginning of February.
Moppet, I was wondering, whether he'd have been more settled, had I let him breed with Baz, but I'm glad you said yours is still on the look out - makes me feel less guilty. :-)
He might get his chance next year, when they're both older - at least, that's what I keep telling him :-) |

| Eddies behaviours all over the place atm and hes acting very out of character he went off his food early last year just after new year but this year he went off his food a bit later and hasnt now eaten 2nd of march but hes a good size and weight so im not worried the last week hes showing a bit of interest in food so im hoping thats a sign he will start again soon the lil sod last year as he was not eating anyway and rather horny i decided to let him breed with a friends corn and hopefully thatd snap him out of it it didnt make any difference whatsoever lol but he ate after about 6 weeks my royals gone about 2 months now must admit the first time they both fasted i was having kittens im not so worried now i know they will start again at some point lol just gotta be patient |
