When will I know when Danno can go up to two pinkies? I thought I'd try a second one today after a few hours and he happily scoffed it down, in fact there was a very slight strike this time.. He normally has a sniff and slips it in. Should I continue with two every 7 days or stick to the one every 5? He's about 11g, had one shed that I know of from his feeding chart. Any advice would help thanks :) |

Personally at 11gms I'd continue with one every 5-7 days and up it to two at around 18-20gms not that there is any fixed weight to do so. |

It depends if one leaves a bump or not. If you feed 2 pinkies it's best to give them one straight after the other. Just wait until the first is down a little bit before offering the second |

What Oketee Mike has said is right, Steve. At 11g Danno is probably a little small to be moved up to 2 pinkies....although it isn't a black and white situation. The best guide is as Hissyfit said, whether the pinkie is leaving a 'bump' or not. If, once he's eaten, you can see where in his body the pinkie is then I would suggest you leave him at 1 pinkie every 5 days for a bit longer. But if the 'bump' is barely noticeable then he is ready to move up. If that is the case then do as suggested, feed him the 1st and then wait until its moved at least a 3rd down his body before offering him the 2nd. If you do move up to 2 pinkies then its probably best to feed him every 6 days. It is good that he reacted the way he did when you gave him the 2nd pinkie, but you have to be aware that snakes are opportunistic feeders and will eat whatever's offered at times, even when they don't need it. Trust your instincts with him, along with the advice given....I'm sure you can work out what's best for him.

I think you've got some good advice here already, I agree with one pinkie every 5 days as Okeetee Mick said, then move up to two when he gets a little bigger |
