A rainbow!!! Yeeeesss go for it, they are beautiful! See Prism in my sig - she is a Colombian rather than a Brazilian which I expect is what your hubby wants - and although they grow a bit fatter they don't grow as long as corns - In fact there are at least 2 members on here I can think of trying to talk their husbands into allowing them a rainbow at the moment lol! Prism is sooo much friendlier than the corns, who seem to spend most of their time trying to get away lol, she'll just curl around your arm and sit there quite happily rather than darting up the nearest sleeve.
So you just need to choose yourself your perfect corn, then let hubby get his rainbow lol!

Hmmm. Seems I now have a lot to think about regarding whether to get a corn or just get a boa now lol! I love the colours and ways they change in corns but as I have just discovered snakes properly they are all so beautiful. I'm thinking about cancelling my plans and going to the open day tomorrow to have a peek but I don't want to look like an idiot. Haha! |

Maybe I'm getting carried away haha! It's all I can think about at the moment yet I've never even held a snake! It's nice to talk to people who own them though as non of our friends own or have owned snakes so it's a completely new adventure |

It's very important that you...
get both lol!!
Corns are just that little bit easier as a 'starter' snake due to the humidity requirements of rainbow boas... of course then I can start talking you into getting a hognose... *whistles*

Well... we'd probably only have a couple of corns if it wasn't for this forum lol! (And they'd probably have died from being too hot due to bad advice...) Soo... depends on your perspective lol!! |

Hello Beenie and welcome to the forum. I can see the addiction is hitting you already, and that's even without having your snake yet! :-)
I have a feeling, that if you do cancel your plans, and go to the open day, you might end up coming back as a snake owner... beware. ( BUT go , anyway ). |

Advice was the main reason for joining. Yes razee that's part the reason I might not go. I don't think I have enough money to justify buying one this month and I know what will happen! I'll go and find one I love: -/ |

You get lots of good advice here :-) One thing you definitely won't get, though, is people discouraging you from buying more snakes... I wouldn't mind a royal, and a hoggie ( and possibly others, like boas ) as well. Baby royals are very, very cute. |

Ha ha ha ha, great that you enjoyed the open day, and I'm glad you are successfully converted from not wanting snakes to wanting them lol!
Royal pythons are one of very few snakes I admit I'm not so keen on - I love their faces and their patterns and they are very cute as youngsters, but just not their short, stumpy adult bodies I'm afraid lol. |
