I currently have Sheldon feeding every 5 days on 2 x pinkie, however I fed him last night and the lump from feeding wasn't as noticeable as it usually is, what I'm wondering is should I be looking at feeding him a fuzzy instead?? Not too sure about this. Sheldon was born Oct '12 and currently weighs between 17g and 18g. Any advice greatfully received.

If he's taking two pinkies at a time with no problems then he could move up a size, as long as the fuzzy isn't any bigger than 1.5 times the widest part of his body. |

thanks will maybe attempt a fuzzy for the feed after next and see how it goes just don't want to push him too fast as he's still so small but he does have a big appetite. :) |

Hi bit confused :/ .... My female snow has 1 pinkie per week, then every 6th weeks has two but i feed her late at this time. Would my female snow handle fuzzies at the moment?

there are so many sites with different information regarding feeding, all so different from each other. i.e the munson plan advise feeding 2 pinkies every 4-5 days, other places say feed less often there doesn't seem to be 2 people that have the same opinion, it's very confusing especially for a beginner. but will defo take your advise as i really don't want to over feed him either. :) |

Why do you give her 2 every 6th week? I'm assuming someone gave you some weird advice at some point! If she's OK with 2 then she should be getting 2 every feed every 7 days - but yes, if she has been OK with 2 for a few feeds then it's usually OK to up to fuzzies provided, as mentioned above, that the overall thickness of the fuzzy is no more than 1.5 times as large as the widest part of the snake :)
For both of you - have a look at this rather excellent feeding guide - it's stickied at the top of this forum for future reference: http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=27833&SearchTerms=feeding |

mrsbunt, going up a feed size is always daunting... and they always manage it no problem whilst we look on thinking 'oh no, it's too big, I should have waited... oh no it's not' lol :D |
