Hi guys, just thinking about moving Jake up to a fluff from 2 pinkies but I think it's borderline as to the 1.5 his thickest part. Can I cause any damage to him? His last 4 feeds have been 2 pinkies each time no bother with only a visible bump going down his neck area. Just weighed him & he's still 17g, no change from 2 weeks ago, FYI he's 5.5months old & 44cm long.
Cheers

I'd carry on with double pinks (if you still have some) until he is about 23-25 grams, and then ask for small fuzzies. Snakes can take prey larger than the 1.5 times thickest part, but I wouldn't recommend it...

17g seems pretty little to be going up to fluffs imho. It does depend on the shape of the snake though, I have a 31g snake that can't manage a fluff yet because she's so long and slim, it's just too wide for her!

It's best not the risk it really, if it was too big for her then it could cause her to regurge and it's really just not worth the bother. A few more feeds on double fluffs then she would be able to manage it a bit better. That's what I'd do anyway but I tend to err on the side of cautious with feed sizes.

Thanks guys, I decided to defrost the smallest fluff out of the ones I had and give him a try with it as it didn't actually seen that big next to him and the pinkies just weren't even really showing in him. He managed the fluff really well and i've just handled him there and he seems great, looks like he's about to go into blue.
