Hi. After upgrading my young ones to bigger tubs (two exo terra tubs and a third similar tub), I discovered on Saturday that the biggest of them had escaped. I have no idea how, but she could have squeezed through the random hole in the top which I presume is for probe (I have my probe placed elsewhere), but I thought she would be big enough not to fit through.

I left a heat mat with a hide and a pinky in the middle of the room last night, but no luck except for a stinking roasted pinky. I've searched my whole room twice, on Sat and Sun, moved all my vivs, pulled my bed out, taken the sofa apart, pulled the PC apart etc etc etc. But nope. She's vanished.

Even my mum is stumped as to where she could have gone, our search was very thorough. Any tips for recapturing a lost one? I check every few hours or so in warm dark places and generally the 'best' hiding spots, but no luck.

Starting to think that one of the cats has had off with her, or that she has room hopped and died of cold (my room is the only warm one in the house). Any tips?

I've read the lost snake sticky, but does anyone else have any personal tips? I'm going to do the bottle technique tomorrow (with several strategically placed bottles). Hope she turns up :/

Every time I've had a snake get loose it was my cats that found them.

2x I've had to rescue Monster from them as they pulled him into the middle of a room and were trying to figure out how to 'play' with him.

The last time I noticed Usagi staring into one of the radiators and sure enough Monster was sitting on top of the element under the slotted cover Usagi was peering into.

Especially if your cats are hunters, Watch them closely.

Good Luck!
