Yesterday and the day before fluffys eyes were really blurry! She was definitly ready to shed.. This afternoon I went to check up on her and her eyes and skin looked the usual colour again.. I searched the viv for her skin but could not find it.. I then completly emptyed the viv and looked through and under her substrate.. I really can't find her skin anywhere and im quite confused... I'm pretty sure snakes dont eat their skins... |

When snakes shed they normally got blue and then clear up. She will shed in a few days :)

And to complicate it even more, they can shed just a couple of days after they've cleared, or they can hang on for a week, or longer in some rare cases :-) But yes, as everyone else have said, it won't be long now, and you'll have a nice, new, shiny, snakey! |

Ahh! Usually she sheds right after she has turned white :0 Can anyone tell me why they actually turn white and then clear up? x |

I think they first grow a new skin under the old one ( it's when they go darker, or duller in colour ), then, when the new skin is ready, they secrete a fluid, which separates the two layers, the old skin from the new. At this point they go really dull, and their eyes are clouded over ( due to the fluid between the two eye caps ). When the two layers are fully separated, they re absorb the fluid ( hence appear clear again ), and are ready to shed. :-) |
