So here am I am again waiting for news of one of my snakies having surgery. I never thought I would have to go through this once let alone twice. 8 months ago it was Connie having retained eggs removed. This time Noisy is under the knife to remove what we think is an absess. Not entirely sure what it is attached to or what has caused it so a bit worried about the outcome. Just hope he gets through ok and that he recovers well.

Best of luck to Noisy, hope it all goes well

I understand your worry. My Staffy girl is going in for surgery tomorrow to have a lump removed from between her toes. She had similar 3 yrs ago and it turned out to be cancerous. She's only 7 yrs old and such a lovely girl

Thanks everyone.

Noisy has come through ok. It turned out to be a major blockage of poo which is good in some ways because at least it wasn't a tumour. Not sure why he became so blocked as he was pooing small amounts so will just have to see how he gets on from now. The vet thinks it was probably stress in some way that caused it but seeing as he is quite a stressy snake anyway, it is hard to say what particular stress it was. Time for another rethink of his enclosure, feeding and handling regimes. I'm just hope I can get him eating again as I had only just got him feeding regularly.

Sad news folks. Unfortunately Noisy didn't make it through the night. He probably just couldn't handle the stress of the surgery.

RIP my little guy
