Just some questions regarding hygiene within the vivarium. I'm using a green grass like rug for substrate as shown in the picture below.
I clean the whole tank with a diluted milton and soak all the hides, logs and rocks and wipe the background down.
My main concern is the cleanliness of the rug. As I can only wash it on a 30 degree wash in the washing machine. Do you think this is ok?
George never seems to poop on the rug, but will always go at the back of the vivarium on a patch of dry glue (from hot glue gun). But I'm not sure about when he urinates.
Had no problems so far, but have no idea on this type of thing?
Otherwise I could turn to beech chips as substrate, but must admit I think this looks better.

If you're not 100% happy with washing at 30 you could always give it a rinse in the milton solution when it's had it's basic wash in the machine.
