Just wandering if i should be worried or if anyone else's snakes does this, but fed Orion just now and with both fluffs he bit himself, he has quite an aggressive strike and constrict and when he is was moving the mouse to start swallowing it he caught himself and got a little stuck because he is coiled so tightly and closely to the mouse?

All advise/suggestions/ stories welcome

Saphira did that once after I put her back into the viv. I guess her side still smelled of the mouse she had constricted, and she bit herself. She quickly let go after she realized she was biting herself, though :p

Vambo the CCP couldn't find the head of his rat and took pot luck and grabbed his own flank in frustration. I got a wee bit over excited and dived in to stop him. That didn't please him either so I got snake-cuffed and a good knuckle chewing for my cheek. I was stuck like that for 20 minutes until I managed to wiggle a pen with my finger tips and unlatch his jaw from my digit.

Next time he can figure it out for himself.

I've read lots of posts about snakes doing this over the years.
They sometimes get the aroma of food and automatically strike, so don't worry it's perfectly normal!
