Hi Guys,
Long time no speak - hope all of you are well :)
I've got a quick and random question about Common Boa's and this might be a bit of stupid question and I apologise if it is but I thinking of getting a Boa, but I'm worried about the cat I've got. Can they grow big enough to eat a cat or not? Again sorry if it's a silly question, but I'd rather be sure  |

A nice female could potentially get big enough eat a regular sized cat, I believe

Doing a bit of research, they reach between 5-7 foot. I would guess if it was hungry, and had the oppurtunity to, it could eat it. But I imagine if you fed it properly etc it would have no interest in the cat!
Just keep it away from children, because everyone knows they eye and size up children ready to eat them... LOL  |

| Thanks guys - I think I'll elave it to play it safe - I'd be mortified if anything like that happened. Not to mention the stress for botht he animals if the snake escaped! |

| common boas (BCI) can get to about 9ft for a good sized lass, so yes they can get to a size where they could eat a cat sized meal. but unless you are planning on cohabbing tha cat and the boa i dont see any problems |

Boas especially are renowned for their escapology lol twas one of the reasons i opted out of getting a boa that and i have cats too lol |

| Surely a corn or rat snake could kill a cat if it constricted round the cats kneck, though not eat it or course even though i dare say some may try lol. |

Surely this would depend on how big the corn is both length and girth and if its a fat lazy snake or a mucular one and how small the cat is and of course just how hungry the snake is. Survival and all that. There seems to be quite a few larger corns aboout now. |
