Ordered one of these yesterday, due to arrive tomorrow. Anything you can tell me regarding flaws or down falls? Also anything I will need to do to it in preparation for my babies? Won't be putting them in until January time :)

Thanks,
Daniel

They are a good viv and I have not found any faults with mine. If it is second hand just make sure you give it a good scrub and clean well with disinfectant. Also make sure you seal the edges/corners of the inside with aquarium sealant or similar to stop liquids soaking into the melamine

Flaws ..since they recently changed them the glass is thicker meaning the sliding locks dont fit the fittings are fiddly and delicate they never used to be that bad but id still say they are a decent cheap viv for the money just bugs me i cant use the locks on them ugh

That's very exciting I have ordered a stack of them too. I have heard of young snakes escaping between the panes of glass but I don't know how common this really is. I intend to use one of those paper binder thingies to help plug the gap if it is large enough for Apollo to have a chance of squidging himself through.

Like Donnie said, sealant is recommended (by the manufacturer too I think) to seal any edges of the wooden panels. Maybe a wedge for the door since the locks don't fit?

Have experianced escaping snakes, however of one occasion a small piece of aspen was in the runners stopping the glass butting up to the wood , and snakes are oppotunists after all.
I use a wedge and have had no problems since.
Both snakes that are housed in them are happy enough, and i will be purchasing one from the new range when snowdrop is ready to step up.
The LX range has been replaced and the new ones have an improved door locking system.

I have two, an older and a new one. The glass does seem thicker, but I still use a lock, the bend in it had to be straightened out though. And it's a cheap eBay lock!

I done the same with the lock as Serena. All i can add to advice would be the air vents - take them out and swap them around, so that if snakey is pushing them, they cannot pop out. Hope this makes some sort of sense!

i hvae a new L6 and like the viv however have had couple of issues...the top wooden panel at the top kept coming loose due to the screw not fitting properlly and also the glass was not cut stright so each end had about 5mm gap in it at top with bottom flush against the glass also had the plastic runner and wooden front panel break in transit (and two more times on replacment) but think that more to do with bad handling than anything.
