:-( my husband just came home from a night out with a friends, I was in bed and I heard his friend in slithers tank so came down, slither is so friendly and my kids go in all the time and handle her but he must have seriously frightened her because she was thrashing about everywhere then bite the guy. Then she coiled up and was attacking the glass and everything. I have never seen her scared ire acting like this :-( she has gone back into hiding now and will tell the kids to leave her a few days but will she be ok and go back to normal? |

Depends why she was doing it. If the guy grab her too hard and hurt her it will be a defence thing. He could have just super freak her out. |

Oh, sorry to hear of this. Just give her time to resettle and then rehandle. I'd recommend you keep handling until you are confident that she is happy before the kids start handling again.
He might have just caught her off guard, unrecognisable scent and boom went for a strike. My little corn has a very placid temperament but during shedding times I get a not so welcoming reaction. Keep positive as this may have been a one off.
Best of luck and keep us updated |

I'd check her over and as long as she is ok leave her to chill for a few days. |

I'm sorry to hear that - my question to him would be - what was he doing in the tank in the first place? I'd be seriously cheesed off, if any of my husband's friends did that... I wouldn't even dream of going into a friend's house, and start pulling their snakes out of the viv without the owner even knowing about it? Anyway - I'm a bit protective over my animals... I'd just leave her to settle for couple of days, like others have said, she'll probably calm down and go back to her usual self ( and put a good lock on the viv ;-) ) |

There are loads of reasons why your snake bit him, he may have scared your snake, handled to heavy, his hands might have had a pray/food sent on them, unknown sent etc. I would leave your snake to settle in and start handling little and often again. I would go mad if anyone went near my snake without me being there to supervise. Hope slither recovers ok :) |

Hopefully it has taught your husbands friend a valuable lesson and not to handle things that dont belong to him. Serves him right if he got bitten. Trying to handle a snake after a few drinks is not recommended. When people are durnk they do silly things, maybe he was provoking the poor snake by waving his hands around it trying top get it to strike so he can look the brave man after a few beers. |
