I'm stupidly excited, I've had Tanith for just over a week and I haven't seen her all that time, she's hidden away apart from when I fed her. I just held her and she was brilliant, she sniffed me a bit, let me pick her up and just sat in my hand, wandered up my arm a bit but really calm and I expected her to be nervous

Aww so glad she was calm for you - how old is she? I only ask cos both mine were quite young when I got them - and they were far from calm to start with lol!

Also, where did her name come from?

She hatched 6th July, she came from Manda88 who said that she was the calmer of the two I was interested in. She's completely different from my daughter's Ruby, who's a month older but really quick although she's stopped biting.

She had a couple of names at first which just didn't fit her and then the name Tanith Lee came into my head, an author I like, and I thought that's it. When I looked it up I found it means Serpent Lady in Phoenician so perfect

That's great news. The settling in period drags, bet you couldn't wait to hold her.

Like I said in the email, really pleased to hear she's settled in so well with you! She was always lovely and calm so I would have been very surprised if she'd had a change in attitude!

Yes, I 'd been on here lurking for a while and I saw a lot of good things said about Manda's snakes

And yes, Herriotfan, the settling in period seemed like a month and then I didn't want to have to put her back after 5 mins

I was so eager to post yesterday, I realise that I put it in the wrong section so sorry about that folks
