Hello,
I need help for installing my heat mat into viv. It says to use double sided sticky tape (although on here this is a big no no).
What would you guys suggest to secure it to the base of the viv ?
Many Thanks |

mine arent secured to the bottom of the viv at all they stay in place just fine once subtrates on top i just bung a bit of sealant in the wire hole which prevents too much movement and also stops snakey escaping lol i like to check my mats over whenever i deep clean the vivs so i dont secure them down with anything |

Same here, not fixed. But as Scaly said, use a hot glue gun if you want to :) |

None of mine are fixed to the vivs. The hide usually keeps it in place, though Keith always manages to get underneath it. Does no harm though as long as the probe stays in place. |

Mine's glued down with blobs of aquarium sealant around the clear edge, so if I really needed to, I can peel it off. Then sheet of paper over, probes held down by hide. I suppose I'm lucky Bazil only ever poos on the cold side... |

Ha - I bet now I've said that, he'll do the next one just between the edge of mat and the viv wall :-) |

What sort of mat is it, some mats are designed to be attached to the outside of glass tanks and are stuck on |

I've heard of people on the darkside holding there mats down with drawing pins. I don't use heat mats for adults I use over head heat bulb on a dimmer stat and yes a bulb guard |

The dark side i am led to believe is the "other" reptile forum. Not to be confused with the dark side of "The Force" |

Yeah, mine is unsecured, I just have a hide on top of it and other items holding the corners down. |

"I've heard of people on the darkside holding there mats down with drawing pins."
I am not registered over there.
To clarify, DO NOT push the pins through the mat laminate. Use the head of the pin to clip the edge of the mat. Otherwise just place a heavy hide on top.
