Hey my 1 yr old corn regurged his mouse i fed him on monday this is the first time he has done this...the ladt feed which was last monday thete seemed to me what looked like mouse skin undigested in his tub bit he popped a day after and now this has happened. I havent changed anything or handled and the temps are fine? Ive cleaned the tub and left him to rest and wont feed for the next 10 days. Was wondering whether anyone cpuld help as i have no idea why this has happened?
Thanks in advance. |

Its just something that can happen occasionally Im afraid, youve done everything correctly :)
Sometimes in a healthy corn it can happen because the mouse has been thawed and refrozen (usually at the shop or in transit) either with or without the shopkeepers knowledge. I had a batch of these once but my corns refused to touch them even though they seemed fine to me but I can imagine it would have caused a re-gurge if they had of eaten them. |

Im hoping he is not ill as the previous meal he was taking a while to eat it and from a hatchling hes always been a keen eater, i supose i will have to keep an eye on him. The funny thing is that the other 3 i have are in the same stacking and the temps are all roughly the same in the tubs and the other 3 are ok. I cant even blame it on the mouse size as he has been on the same size mice for a while now.
Thanks for you help Ell |

Its just one of the little bumps in the road we all have to deal with at one stage, if you found 'mouse skin' last week then it sounds like that was the first regurge, I think regurge looks like well chewed toffee with maybe a foot in it, oh and it stinks so bad the wallpaper will peel off the walls. The second regurge could have been cauased purely by the first regurge and not having enough time to settle its stomach before trying to feed again. The 10 days rule is a good one, I just left it two whole weeks to keep feeding day a Sunday.
If you are certain that the temperatures are fine then allow the time to settle the stomach, no handling, fresh water daily, and then when you start feeding again start smaller, drop a food size or 2 and build back up to the normal food size.
Good luck and let us know how things go. |
