Hi everyone,
I bought my first corn snake about a month ago and everything is going great. The thing is, she is in blue at the minute and her eyes cleared up earlier on today. She has decided to hide under her water bowl though so is constantly feeling cold. Will this affect her shed and will it come off in one piece or does she need to be warmer?
May be a stupid question but want to be sure that everything will be ok!! Thanks :)

Just double check all your temps to make sure nothing has gone haywire but she should be ok. One of mine sits in his cool hide all the time when he is in blue.

The warm side is about 28 degrees and cool side about 21. Thanks for that though, I feel better now. Shall write back once she's shed :)

Yeah they have a unique ability to do what we least expect them to do, repeatedly!

All we can do is provide them with a setup that best provides them the choice to do what we least expect in a safe manner.

If you find you never ever see her in the hot end it may be a bit too hot so you can turn the stat down a degree and see how that effects things, I know my corn doesn't like 28 degrees and likes it half a degree cooler, 27.5oC, but it takes time and observation to finely tune your setup to your particular snake as they are all slightly different.

She does go in the hot bit usually. Just while she's been in blue has she been under the water bowl but I've only had her a month so will observe her afterwards and see where she spends most of her time. Thanks for the advise :)
