My local store (the Needham Market Scales and Tails) will do the three for £42. I think they were all Habistat brand. To be honest if I do go back and get the kit from them I'll probably be cheeky and ask if they'll either reduce the price or throw in the first lot of 10 mice for £42.

But I'm just wondering what else is out there that people have found. I've had a look at a few online shops but I'd just like to narrow it down to tried and tested places.

By the way, the thermometer is a duel digital one which is what I need, and as far as mat size goes just one of the smaller ones. I've got time before I go and pick up my hatchlings (think it will be a couple of weeks) so I can get stuff delivered. But also if people know of good places in and around Suffolk, Essex and Cambridge then I can travel to pick them up to save on postage.

So can anyone beat £40?

Thanks for the reply.

I've just been looking at heat tape which is what is seems people use for their snake racks. I'm going to have 3 separate enclosures for my hatchlings, so what do you think is the best way to heat these? Should I use mats (I think one mat would do for 1 or 2 or possibly even all 3 enclosures) or should I perhaps use heat tape?

What set up to you think would be best? I've got plenty of space so can do a horizontal layout rather than vertical. I was wondering if, whilst they were still so small, it might be better to divide up one of my really large plastic tubs into 3 compartments, rather than giving them a small tub each. My small tubs are probably still 12"x7" and fairly tall. Would you say that could be an intimidating space for a hatchling?

What would be the protocol for doing the thermostat for heat tape/mats heating multiple enclosures? How are snake rack thermos controlled? Is there a sensor in each one?
