My friend is coming up to do a family thing, was looking for a B&B i said her and her 3 kids could have Ians room, id just kick him out for the night. She was going to until she remembered i have pets, when she remembered about Kellogs or 'dangerous THING' then said why do i have 'DANGEROUS PETS' but said other things also.
If we werent also having a serious conversation, i would have hung up on her, i got really angry, my step son took the phone, said the snake was '20 foot, poisonus, would escape and when she was sleeping, lie beside her to measure her then eat her or the kids! and she diddnt see the funny side like i did! Then just to be a cow i told her i have a tub of c0ckroaches in the living room, she soooo freaked out!
Anyway, would it be a step to far to send Kellogs next
shed in the post? (she wouldnt hit me till september!)

Ugh, I hate it when people are like that about snakes.

It's a shame that so many people are phobic about them. Unfortunately, having a phobia myself (earwigs...shudder) I can sort of understand having such an inexplicably negative reaction to an animal. But if it is somebody's pet, they should try to have a bit of respect because even though they don't like it, somebody else clearly does!

Haha, dangerous pets! Maybe if you're a mouse...

Ha-ha-ha! You should have told her that she would be OK as you keep a supply of anti-venom in the fridge ... right next to the steaks and frozen mice.

Just today the neighbour's kid brought his cousins up to visit my zoo. A wee girl about 6 years old, a boy about 8 and a lassie about 15.
All were keen to see the snakes so I started off with wee Woody then Blaze and finally up to Big-T. Who was the first to take the snakes and have an absolute giggling tickly fit when Big-T went a-cuddling and took a fancy to her pig-tails? Yep, the wee 6 year old. Her chuckles were brilliant.

The boy and the older lassie were happy to give them a stroke and share holding the tails but no way were they risking life and limb. Maw & Paw duly arrived and it was out with the mobile phones for a photo shoot of their fearless little Miss Tarzan. Even when I brought Vambo out (just to show) and he 'strangled' me senseless, she just chuckled even louder. Made my day.

I think do ittt :) but then i can be mean like that sometimes, but to be that mean about it its just ridicolous!

If anyone ever came round my house that didnt like snakes but respected them even if scared of them i respect them for it, we generally dont say anything about the spiders though lol. Otherwise we wont get that many vistors haha!
Also if someone is scared of snakes its not like im going to get one out and hold it in there face kinda thing unless they wanted to its not fair on both the snakie or the person, so as long as the snakes are secure i dont see peoples problems, if ya had one loose somewhere then tahts a lil different but i swear peoples think they are slithering on there own and the spiders lol!

although i will say the neighbours peed me off a while ago they asked if one of the corns snakes are venomous lol i just said yes and you best be careful of the rattle snake i have upstairs :D in a actual fact thats just a ornament in one of the snakes vivs but the amount of people that think its real is soooo fun to tease :D Neighbour soon shut up when i said that though, wasnt very impressed when i had to explain my apparnt venomous snake got out lol...

i'd do it but i do have a sadistic sence of humor. apparantly when i was little i freaked out my aunty who is phobic of snakes and worms. i'd been playing with bacon rind and had streached it out and called her out to come and look, it was shrinking back into its original shape and she though they were worms!! when i first got 8 we're weren't going to tell her as he is up stairs and she'd never see him, she has since found out about both my guys and now won't come in the house, although she never says anything horrid about them, am trying to convince she we should work on her phobia but she aint playing :-)

My neighbours little girl parades groups of small children round to see my 2 corns. She stands there telling them to be quiet so they dont scare them. She even makes them use hand gel even if they dont touch them . All this from a 4yr old.

SBB, there was absolutely no hesitation when I asked the wee one if she wanted to hold one of them. Both arms straight out and not so much as a flinch. Her eyes lit up with Big-T. I wish I had a decent digi-cam for times like these.

Coxy, Brilliant wee neighbour you have.

My mum isn't keen on snakes, but she liked my Leopard Geckos, and bizarrely, she doesn't mind the psychotic tarantula.

Which I suppose is good, as it escaped while they were looking after it while I moved (my dad put some water in there after going to the pub...).

That reminds me I saved Neidr's first shed, my son wanted to take it in to show his teacher... From what I gather she still hasn't let him do that show and tell!
I finally had that talk where someone sat me down and told me my snakes were poisonous dangerous things that want to eat me... In fairness Nyoka tried it lol!

Ha-ha! I had my cousin in Oz convinced that I had a special harness made by the saddlers round the corner to take Vambo for walkies. I strung her along for ages. PMSL

Daft thing is that she stays in snake country.

Had my sister in law over from cyprus she sees a fair amount of snakes where she lives but was still wary of my 2 little boys. She asked every night if they were locked up as she was worried about them getting in her upstairs bedroom. The funny bit is she lives in a bungalow in cyprus i couldnt stop laughing.
