Hi all,
does anyone on here have viv mounted on the wall? Im struggling for space in my lounge and planned on putting 2 lx36 vivs on to the wall behind the sofa.

My DIY knowledge is pretty limited but I was thinking of maybe putting 3 brackets (those 'L' shaped metal things) on the wall (three under each viv)....but...what screws would I need? also how do I test what load they will be able to take? Im just worried ill put the brackets up and then put the viv on them and either the screws will come out or the brackets will bend.

Elicia. x

Alot of them style brackets have weight ratings anyway. I only know of one person on here that has done it. Best thing is to ask someone at a hardwear shop tell them what it is an what you want to do an go on there advice.

I dunno would I trust wall brackets to hold up a whole viv.. I can just imagine walls ripping and glass smashing and other disastrous things!

3ft vivs can be pretty heavy, especially if you start putting logs and stuff in, so I would definitely get professional advice. There is no way I would put a viv on my walls as mine are all just plasterboard.

You can put up the brackets and do the swing test on them. If they are fixed well enough they wont move when you hang on them.

Depends completely on the integrity of your walls, brackets and fixings used. Certainly wouldn't consider on an internal plasterboard wall!
