Thinking ahead I would like to run a day night temperature cycle in my viv.

What would be a good temperature to drop to overnight, 2-3 degrees lower than day time temps?

0.1.0 - Leopard Gecko (R/S Tremper Albino)- Toothless
1.0.0 - Crested Gecko (Dalmation) - Sizzle
1.0.0 - Royal Python (Pastel)- Sir Hiss
1.0.0 - Bearded Dragon (Hypo Tangerine) - Maximus
1.0.0 - Corn Snake (Amel Motley??) - Rossi
Wish List - BRB, GTP, Dartfrogs

I work on 24/25 night temp for around 10 hours, so your not far away. A night time drop isn't really necessary but purely a personal choice. I only have one of my vivs setup this way and to be honest it makes no difference, I just wanted to experiment.

0.1.0 Ghost (Crystal) 0.1.0 Caramel (Jessica) 0.1.0 Lavender Stripe (Portia) 1.0.0 Platinum (Godric)
0.1.0 Thayers King (Lettie Mae) 0.1.0 Albino Blairs King (Lorena) 0.1.0 Russian Ratsnakes (Pam)

That is exactly the reason I was planning to do it. 10 hours sounds like a good amount, will give it a go.

Was also toying with the idea of introducing some UV into the viv for the daylight hours, I know that it isn't needed as such but can't be bad for the snake as long as you don't have an albino morph?

Couldn't agree more, I use 2% UV tubes, as you rightly say can't be bad. I chose to use after reading an article in the reptile magazine stating there are health benefits to be gained.
