His guys, I've had my male for a few weeks now and have noticed he hides away a lot more then Amber my female. As soon as I enter the room he heads for his cave everytime. My younger female Will follow me up n down her viv but I have had her longer. Is it normal for these slightly older guys from petshops to take a wide berth from us humans but feed fine?

All corns are different, some will always hide away some will be more outgoing. It may well be he just needs a bit longer to settle in or he may just be shy. You'll just have to wait and see.

Our 8 mth old we've had 6 months, she is still v shy and hides away a lot. I got a 4mth old snake last month, and she pops her head out to see what is going on anytime she hears noise!!

as smart bunny has said some are braver than others, my older boy 8 is often out and about but the new boy is still quite shy, although he is getting braver. it is totaly normal for them to hide away, especially if they have fed or are shedding.

Jake is usually hiding when i'm home alone unless I have music or the hoover on then he seems to be dancing along! Saying that if it's just me and the o/h unless we're in the dining room talking he'll be in his hide. He loves it when we have friends round and we're a bit louder than usual he almost always comes out to play with us! He's not very good a poker though :') I'm sure your new friend will become braver in time !

I'm putting it down too spending too much of his life in a rack in the pet shop, he's ok when being handled, just don't make it easy with the initial picking up. Shame I can't upload photos from my phone
