My snake went into shed, his eyes misted up, un-misted, and now his colours have gone slightly more normal, but he has had his head up a few cm of the ground for about 5 - 10 minutes now, and he keeps doing really big yawns and moving his mouth. Is he trying to shed .. is there any way I should help him? I've never had him shed or seen a snake shed .. is he ok?
Thank you for your help!!

Thank you! Shall I leave him to it, or is there something I should do to help him?

he will probably do fine on his own, would just leave him to it. Just check on him closely when he has shed make sure tail tip and eyecaps have come off.

Ok, he is only 8 months so I guess I will have to look quite closely. Do you have any pictures of what it looks like when the eye caps have come off?

No shed as of yet, but he is bathing in his water this morning so I guess he is nearly ready!

Don't worry about him, he knows what he's doing :)

It confused me at fist that they go really blue and then go back to normal for a couple of days before shedding..
Like it's been said already, just check that the shed he leaves is a full shed :)

If he's anything like Jake he will be very illusive when shedding. He tricks us into thinking we may get to see it, but one night you'll go to bed and get up next morning and there it is all over with! Has he shed yet?

Tell me about it. I once spent nearly all day watching Espher, she was rubbing her nose against stuff as if she was just about to shed. I left her for like ten minutes went back and she'd done it! as if she had been waiting for me to go away so she could do it in private!
Perhaps they are embarased about people watching haha

mine arn't anymore infact they more often than not shed in front of us, think there's only been 2 or 3 sheds we've missed I have 2 in blue at the moment or blue and pink (crystals eyes go a lovely shade of pastel pink when in blue), wonder if we catch these sheds too

I caught the second half last time - fascinating!
Previously he has waited until we nipped out and quickly danced out of his skin just leaving it drapped provocatively like discarded stockings!
