Sorry for the qu quys, I'm sure it's been asked many times before! Snakey hasn't eaten since I've brought her home and I'm slightly concerned.
Snakey: approx. 9 months old, about 16-18 inches long, beautiful amel :)
set-up: 2x1x1 wooden viv, heat mat with thermostat, temps sitting about 31 at hot end and 15 at cold. aspen bedding, 2 small hides and plastic plants she can hide under, water bowl big enough to climb in.
she had a feeding record and was taking a pinky every 7 days, except the 2 weeks before i got her she had refused one feed then non-strike fed the next week. I offered her a pink last sunday that she refused, then didn't take over-night. offered again tonight and she's refused again, so I've left it in again.
any suggestions on where I'm going wrong? she's happy to come out and be handled and explores the viv as I always find her in different places.
thanks for any help! |

As lozzy said bring hot end down to 28, 30 is the max temp. Did you leave snakey alone for 7 days to settle? |

she may be finding the hot end too hot so spending her time in the cool end where she can't digest the food properly, bring your temps down a little as suggested.
Don't try offering food too often as tempting as it is as that can put them off too, only offer every 5-7 days, see what happens after you altered your temps, then you can move on trying the different methods to get feeding again one by one, e.g. braining, scenting etc |

Okay, top end has dropped to 29 degrees, I'll make sure not to handle her this week and then try, try, try again next Sunday. If she doesn't feed again should I think about moving her back into her RUB? |

You could, if they're not happy in a bigger house they won't feed either, i had my yearling in a rub and moved into a 2ft viv, he stopped feeding, moved him back into the rub and he started feeding again, obviously didn't appreciate the extra space preferred to be in a smaller cosier environment. |
