Theres a debate going on in the Royal Python Forum regardings rats v mice which is best no sure if this really applys to corns due to them not being as heavy bodied as the royal python.
I'm just curious to know what everyone feeds their corns on.
I've got my corn on small weaner rats which he seems to enjoy more than the mice.
As for my other snakes I've got the Royal on large weaners and the Carpet on small rats.

Mice are fine for corns as there suitable size and nutritionally better. Rats have to be feed to the likes of royals an pythons as they are the suitable size, otherwise ud have to feed multiple mice to be of any benifit

Medium or large mice suit my Corns. In fact Big T point blank refused a small rat when I offered him one for a change.

Vambo is on large mice but will be going on to rats shortly.

I think the consensus is that the fat content is higher in rats and Corns tend to end up overweight if fed too many. Pythons and Boas are able to take the bigger food item as well as digest and use the higher fat ratio. As far as snakes actually enjoying their meals, I think it is more down to what their owners think. (Myself included.)

I prefer to feed mine mice. I feed my corns large as adults every 14 days, occasionally a jumbo. Yes jumbo mice maybe a few pence more than a small weaner rat but afer one of my corns being fed rats all the time and it getting overweight evern when being fed every 3-4 weeks I'd just rather stick to mice. If I was going to have a big bodied snake such as a royal or a boa I would try and feed rats the first chance I get.

A very special super, duper thanks for K :3

I had problems with my western hognose... she went off food for a while I managed to get her eating on rat pups and so continued that for a while. Then I slowly changed over to mice and she never misses a feed now
