Alright :)

I'm getting a Boa, and I've got a few questions for anyone with a boa or relevant experience.

Heating - Will a heat mat on its own do the job? Or do I need a ceramic bulb too?

If i need a ceramic bulb, can i put the heat mat and ceramic bulb onto the same pulse or dimming stat?

mat is ok for hatchling but as soon as it gets to the 750g mark you need to think about over heat heating an ditch the mat full stop.
Large bodied snakes an mats dont go togeather due to thermal block caused by there weight an skin thickness which often leads to burns in heavy bodied snakes being on mats.

Yeah I've got heat resistant cording and a heat resistant holder for ceramic bulbs. I'm not paying £30 for a kit I could wire myself for £4, granted I ordered the holder from fleabay ;)

I got all my ceramic kit from ebay too, cheap and does the trick. As long as its heat resistant then its fine. Boas are awesome, great fun when they are young and then stronger than you from about 3 feet long, lol.
