Got my heat mat today and was just wondering Do they get hot straight away or does it take time and are they hot to touch

Takes a bit of time. It won't feel hot when its set right on a thermostat as it will only be 30 oc

they arent hot to touch once heated to the right temp. If you think about it our body temperature is more than a snake needs. It will be hot enough for the snake though.
