Sorry people am new to this forums and well lol no idea what am doing! Ok, so i have just bought two corn snakes from someone who has had them a year (or so they say) they was both ''females'' one is 2 years old and the other is 3 years old, well the 3 year old is a male as when i checked on them as was going to bed they was ''at it'' and he showed all so to speak.. my Q is the female is in the middle of shed and i've read up alot about corns before getting one. As She is so young and in the middle of shedding will she be ok? i have seperated them into their own vivs now but am abit worried about the female as she is only just 2! any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! (sorry i've babbled abit)just want to make sure nothing goes wrong with her! |

Welcome to the forum.
You have done all you can by separating them. The dirty deed may already have been done.
Just for our info, what is the weight and length of the female? The suggested minimum for breeding is 3 years, 3 feet and +300 grams. More experienced breeders can tell you what to watch for to check if she is gravid.
As a forum member you must now post photos of your snakes. |

No it does not mean that she can't become gravid. It is reccomended to be 3 years, 3 foot and 300 grams as this is a size which is said to be safe for her to become gravid. |
Three corns, a dog, a cat, 2 kids and a future husband, Yes its a MAD HOUSE in leicester area.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Shame the peron you bought them from was so irresponsible :( I hope all is OK and either she isn't gravid or that things go smoothly for her if she is! |

I'm confused now - the photo in the link looks like an amel stripe hatchling (I did think it looked small for a 2/3 yrs old but didn't want to say anything lol!) but the 2 in your sig look like a snow and normal - I asssume they are your real snakes and the other one is an accident? |

Ah, the Snow and Carolina are mine also, i have a few corns and trying to get a few together hopefully to breed, when i know more about breeding corns and feel like i know enough to do so.. The striped is the female i am talking about the pic does make her look smaller then in ''real life'' she is def 2 and a half ft long and like i said is 2 years old (but then again they was both ''female'') so i can only go by what they said. lol ssorry for confusion |
