Good grief, how many critters do you have in your house?!! They are a smashing bunch. Can I ask - why do some have really short tails? Have they damaged them? (sorry if stupid question!)

I have read about geckos "dropping their tails" as a defense thing. Does is hurt them in any way when it happens? Do they grow back? Or are they just stumpy after that? Does it effect their balance at all? (sorry for all the questions lol.)

i have a wee little crestie that had a tail nip from one that liked crickets , they have since been split up and the tail-less one is doing briliant and is actually very quick and adgile now . In the wild most geckos have actually dropped their tails . I wouldnt have thought it hurts and it heals really quickly
