Good afternoon everyone!! Bit of a random post here and just to show off my new sig! I've noticed alot of you put kitchen roll tubes in with your snakes and it looked quite fun! So last night I put one in Jake's tank. Just checked on him a few minutes ago and he thinks he's hiding in there, but he's that long that he sticks out at the end! He's looks so cute!! Unfortunately the camera is charging so I can't get any pictures at the moment, but no doubt i'll catch him later! Guess I'm gonna have to start asking around for all the spare cardboard tubes! :) |

I didn't think of it like that Mamma! Good excuse!! And Matty I don't think that is sad, I usually keep them for my two hamsters and end up chucking loads away cos they don't really like them that much. Now I shall be keeping them all for Jake! |

Malt whisky cartons which must be at least 12 year old. Packing tubes about 5 feet from sports shops, used for posting fishing rods. Carpet roll tubes, 12 feet of snakey heavy duty construction material. Carpets used to come rolled on hefty bamboo but I can't find any carpet shops doing this any more.
Lots of options and they are all free. It is amazing how you become an automatic tube spotter shortly after taking up snake keeping.
Another thing to look out for is the flexi-ducting used by utility and cable t.v. companies. Various diameters and always a few offcuts lying about.
@ Staple, have you got the trots? lol |

I shall have to check with my neighbour Auld as he's a carpet fitter! I'm sure i've seen some out the front of his house waiting to be taken to the tip! |

Nope, got my rents to save rolls and my b/fs mum.
Some are art tubes or something/poster ones. I also have plastic tubes my dad brings home from work that used to be in the ground with cables running through, a proper good clean and they are all ready to use. |

Hopefully someones sees this:
What happens to the snake if it gets stuck in the tube? Say he goes in one end, then decides to double-back and so his head and tail are next to each other. Will it harm the snake in anyway? |
