I've just been offered two boas for free. Apparently they are living together in a 2 x 1.5ft glass tank. I'm guessing an exo-terra. Male and female, at least 3 years old and still eating chicks. They come with a heat mat but they don't have lights. I would really love to take them but I can't afford two new vivs plus lights plus all the grub needed to build them up. Plus my mother would have an absolute conniption if i brought them home. I wish i had loads of snake friends! |

There is little point taking on freebies unless you genuinely have the facilities, time and money to care for them properly. You have done the best for them by passing on the Rehoming Group details.
That's almost as good as taking them in yourself. So well done Katie. |

Good decision Katie. As much as we all like to help snakes in need sometimes we just havent got the facilities, money or time to do it. I'm exactly the same when I see dogs offered free to a good home. I have to stop myself getting them just to prevent them being taken by someone who wont provide a safe, forever home. The best we can do is try to put the owners in touch with someone who can help. |

I'd have done my best for them if I took them in but it would only ever have been temporary! I haven't got space for two more big snakes! The guys I put them in contact with seem to know their stuff though so hopefully they get a good home at the end of it. I'm glad they realise its necessary to give the snakes up but still the topic of impulse purchasing rears its ugly head! Research research research people!!!! |
