I guess you'd tell if it was unhappy by the fact that it would stay hidden and hardly move all the time. For instance, mine stays pretty still during the daylight hours but when we first get up in the morning and when we go to bed its pretty active moving around its faun exploring etc. So i guess its happy so to speak.
Others way to check are ways you check when you buy one, check for alert eyes and an active tongue when handling etc. I guess others will answer this better as i have only had mine a similar amount of time to you. |

Agree with Simmy on this - do bear in mind though that some snakes will simply be more shy than others - you hear from folk on here with lots of snakes that a few of theirs seem to always hide away, but that they "know" the snake has been hunting around whilst they are in bed as substrate has moved etc.
Providing your temperatures are good, and that the Viv isn't too big & clean fresh water is supplied etc...i think that means that the little one is as happy as could be |

Moving about is often misinterpreted as happy. First thing I'd say is would a snake know what happy is.
Snakes moving about could be searching for a better hide, or instinctively hunting, trying to regulate temperature etc. Corn snakes are quite inquisitive on the whole so most do explore but many I'm sure stay still, secure in their little hide. The important thing is that it is provided everything it needs to be healthy, and I'm sure it will be 'happy' with that. |
