When you put a heatmat and a stat in a wooden viv do you put all the cable up the corner and out under the top of the viv or can you just drill them out at the base? any answers or even better if anyone has any photos of their bare vivset ups just showing the wiring but but realy helpful cheers |

you can either drill a hole in an appropriate place or put the cables through some types of air vents |

Or build the vivarium with the back piece the other way up so the wire holes are at the bottom. |

In most of mine I have got the wires going out of a hole I drilled at the bottom of the viv in the appropriate place. In a couple of vivs I'v got the holes at the top which also works fine as I also push the stem of a fake plant through the hole to cover the wires. Whichever you chose, you can use cable clips to keep the wires tidy. It's a good idea to put your mat in your viv before drilling any holes so you can check where you want them to be. Also, once you have the wires in place, block up the hole with a bit of sealant (but make sure you leave it a couple of days for the fumes to go before you put snakie in) |
