Hey.
Next Monday I'll be collecting several corn hatchlings from a breeder not too far from me, so I'm looking forward to that. A butter, an anery and a normal with some nice hets. Hopefully I won't be tempted by anything else she has...
But looking forward even more to the latter part of next week, when Tarantula Barn should be delivering my gorgeous new Arabesque Boa all the way from up north. REALLY can't wait for that! Even 6 months ago I never dreamed I'd own a real, proper, full sized lady boa. Excited!
Collecting so many snakes now that I had to build myself a cheap (and rubbish-looking-but-functional) snake rack. Next step is to get them off aspen and onto newspaper so it makes my life easier!
Best go frozen food shopping soon then... |
Corns: 1.1 Anery, 1.1 Butter, 1.0 Carolina, 0.1 Hypo, 1.1 Snow, 1.0 Sunkissed Boas: 0.1 Arabesque, 1.0 Brazilian Rainbow, 0.1 Crawl Cay, 1.1 Hogg Island X, 0.1 Hypo Hogg, 0.1 Kahl Albino (poss coral)

Right now, apparently, it's only about 18 inches. It's going to get just slightly bigger in the next couple of years though... |

Yeah never thought of that! lol
At the moment it all fits into a tub in the door of the freezer. Think it won't be long before it takes over a whole shelf...
Fortunately (in this instance anyway) I live alone, so there are no family members getting upset by pizzas sitting alongside mice and rats! lol |

Cheers m'dears.
Corn pics will come on Monday when I get them home. Better start coming up with names I guess!
The boa I got coming is an arabesque so I'm told, so naming-wise I was going down the Arabian nights road. I thought maybe Princess Jasmine or Genie, both from Aladdin of course. But they're not particularly 'punchy' for such a lush snake, plus I planned to call any 'trophy' girl Elvira, after the mistress of the dark. Got a week or so to decide anyway.
Anyway, here's a little pic of her, and obviously there will be plenty of pics of all my newcomers once they've moved in...

Kinda settling on Elvira for the boa. And Flora for the Butter corn. Butter, Flora, geddit? No names for the others yet, but I kinda like Vegas. But you associate that with bright neon lights, so maybe not for an anery! lol |

Cheers for all the comments guys. 3 corn homes are set up ready. Not that there's much to them! Kitchen roll substrate and a section of kitchen roll acting as both warm and cool hide, plus a jar lid for water! All in a small rub. Probably won't be too long before my new babies outgrow their new homes though and I'll be setting up more! lol
Next thing is to build the LX36 and kit it out for the boa. That should last awhile and hopefully by the time she outgrows it I'll be able to reuse it for another one of the kids. |
