it was this day in 2006 that the late great Steve Irwin died

he was such a great ambassador for reptiles and herpetology, and so very enthusiastic about them, particularly Australia's native species.

Blessed Be Steve

Steve is was and always will be my hero and an inspiration so many people cant see beyond the tv personality but behind the scenes steve was doing so much selfless conservation he was one of the few people on the planet that truely understand conservation is about saving the planet as a whole and not just a select few species 5 years on and its surprising just how raw steves death still is for me never met the guy but his passion and understanding for animals touched me on so many levels thanks for creating this thread gp

Its a day late but R.I.P Steve God,I'm filling up!
What a fantastic bloke he was. His enthusiasm and love for animals was contagious. He opened up peoples eyes to so many wonders and the plight of so many animals. I have some of his Dvd's and both the kids and I love watching them.
