I use tongs, as all mine have very strong feeding responses, but not a lot can be said for their accuracy! :P |

I do use tongs for some of my snakes. Mainly the 2 with a very strong feeding response and when I am putting the mice in the hoggies fauns. I have been tagged before by one of the corns when she missed the mouse and I really don't want to be bitten by one of the hoggies during a feeding response. |

You can pick up tongs for around a £5er from Amazon and other online retailers - the reason I have read for using them is that a corn can learn to associate the Tongs with food/feeding...the other side is that they "could" associate your hand with feeding. There are comments on here from people who have never been tagged by their snake and have never used tongs. Do bare in mind however that if you are picking up the mice with your hands, then your hands smell like dinner |

I use stainless steel forceps either fishing or medical ones I got from ebay as I don't like to touch the food and the only times I have ever been bitten was when I was carrying their food on cardboard, so I like to be a bit further away form the food! Plus with the king going or anything when he knows its din din time... I did have some plastic ones, but they broke! |

A very special super, duper thanks for K :3 |

Some of mine have such an amazing S&C I wouldn't dream of not using tongs! Look on ebay....cheap and you can sterilize them. |

Hand feeder. I don't want to take the risk of the snake stabbing an eye or worse during a strike.
Check the movie in the post I made here. (Control+click on the icon & select View) http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18779 |
