im only asking as its never happened to me until yesterday....

so im defrosting some pinkies for my gorgeous hatchlings (thanks GP) and like normal i rest them on some kitchen roll to dry off, went to pat the topside with some more kitchen roll and one of them pickie tummies just burst blood and guts everywhere what that all about???

just to add the water was warm to touch but not boiling and had only been in 10mins

I prefer to let mice defrost naturally. Pop them in a Philly tub on a bit of tissue to keep flies away and leave somewhere handy overnight.

Get them too used to 'boil in the bag' and they will be demanding Mouse Bolognese or cheese sauce in no time.

i use an old fishfood tub stick the pinkie inside that leave the tub inside the viv on/nr the warm end it defosts in no time at all and nothing can contaminate it inside the tub

we let everything from mouse pinkies to rabbits defrost naturally then heat them up with a hair drier immediately prior to feeding

defrosting pinkies at room temp should only take about an hour
glad they're feeding for you

I just let them defrost at room temp, have seen pics where the snake constricts and mouse explodes just nasty!!
