Hey all,

Just bought two, one month old hatchlings and currently have them in the wee boxes they were sold in. Want to get them proper little homes though.......so, any suggestions on what to use to house them?

Have a look at the exco terra fauns , I have mine in them and they come in two sizes , one of mine is in the large flat faun and the other is in a medium flat . They do my too fine as they are too small for vivs even at 12 months old x

as Laws has said exo faun are very good, for a hatchie would suggest the medium.

We keep our young ones in small tubs with lockable lids that you can pick up for next to nothing from most supermarkets.

I keep mines in small rubs and size them up as the snake grows :)

i've had escapees from RUBs via the small gap between the top of the base and the underneath of the lid

i'd recommend keeping them in the livefood tubs till they're bigger then using a faunarium. with bigger enclosures the snakes can get stressed and can also be very difficult to find!

Hmmm, I've been looking around online and I did notice the Cricket Keepers. They might work out ok. They're currently in the boxes they were transported in, with a hide, water dish and kitchen roll. Need to upsize their homes soon, but its not urgent.

I have my hatchies and house snakes in clip seal boxes. They come in a few sizes and theres no worry of escape as they are airtight.....unless you make the air holes too big of course!

I got an air tight food container with clips on the lid from Poundstretchers the other day. It is only 5.5 litres but will be fine for my new hatchy for a little while and then I'll move it up to the 30x30x30cm Exo terra terrarium I have. I don't want to put it straight into the terrarium because, although the length and width should be ok, the 30cm height of it might make the hatchling nervous as it won't be used to having so much space above it.

I think I'll be looking to do pretty much the same thing really. Just don't like the little boxes they're in now. Need to get them something a little better, but not too big as you say
