Hi my name is scott and I am a bit of a noob. I bought a cb10 Anerythristic on monday, I believe he was a hatchling from november 2010 but he has no feeding charts or diary or anything else for that matter. The shop said that because it wasn't one of their hatchlings they have no info so I will be picking everyones brains for as much as I possibly can. Firstly he/she is one a pinkie every 7 days according to the shop, I was wondering if this is enough also is their any chart or link to length/age/weight ratio. I currently don't know how much he weighs as at this minute in time the only comtact he has with me is changing of his water
cheers for any advice you can give

Hiya scott, as Ive found out, whether or not they can eat more depends on their size. I have a hatchie from november too and she has just gone up from 2 pinkies per meal to a fuzzie once a week. I was told it all depends on if you can still see the meal inside them when they have swallowed it down, with ours, there was no lump after one pinkie so we started offering 2 and went from there. I know you cant weigh her etc yet but for info my baby is 26g and 19" long but there is not really any gauge as all snakes are different

Hi and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your new baby. In regards to feeding, vllb is right, if one pinkie no longer leaves a bump then it's time to move up a size or move to 2 pinkies. You could feed every 5 days instead of 7 at the moment while he is still little.
Pet shops are notorious for giving bad advise regarding care of snakes and it's not looking promising with their lack of records so I would strongly advise you check out all the care sheets and search for information on set-ups to make sure you have the basics right before starting to feed.

I have used the starter set up and advice in this forum so hopefully after a less than brilliant start things start to go better. At first he was always in his warm hide but now he is ventureing out more which is good to see, the only thing left is to see a clean strike for his food. He wasn't interested in his first pinkie so I put him in a feeding tank in a darker room and an hour later pinkie was gone and I thought yes a result, until the following morning when I found the pinkie in his viv

Welcome to the forum noob lol. They are quite secretive little creatures when they are little but they soon get comfortable in their surroundings and brave. Some also dont do the whole strike thing, its soooooo above them, just place it in the corner and they get to it eventually. Took my little Anery about 6 months before he surprised the heck out of me and struck at his dinner. They also can refuse to eat while they are settling in so dont take it personally he will eat when he wants to (or he may be about to shed too), you'll soon get to grips with his personality.

Lol, yeah it does make you jump when they have a pop at you, my corn is the only snake that hasn't struck at me, I tell you when a 800+ gram Royal Python flies at your face its fairly unnerving only good thing is Boa's are too fast to scare you, by the time you realise its already over. (You will no doubt end up with some of these other snakes its only a matter of time).
