I have a large, un-used waxed pine chest of drawers. Ideally I want to remove some of the drawers and convert to top half into a new vivarium for our new addition. (It's a cunning plan..... this leaves room for building a second vivarium/stack eventually without hubby even noticing - mwahahaha!!!)
I'm hoping that sealing the pine wood frame with a water based (ronseal) acrylic varnish will make it safe. Is this correct?
If anyone could advise on this i would be very grateful - i'd be devastated if i did something wrong and hurt Elmo! |

I personally wouldn't, I think the pine thing relates more to non kiln dried pine but I wouldn't. |

i personally have, and with no ill effects pine in it's raw, sappy form is a no-no, but furniture treated with a few layers of varnish is fine in my opinion and experience |
