Just wondering...has anyone used one of these before? I have been researching vivs and the possibility of stacking 3 of them together once Mim, Romeo and Rocco are ready to be moved into more permanent adult homes, or making my own 3 tier viv. I do like the look of these Hagen VivExotic ones but just wanted to know what other people thought? |

I got my LX36 last week and am pretty satisfied with it. Being a flat pack it probably isn't as brilliant as a ready built one, but for half the price I'm certainly not complaining! Cheap at SPS too...

Exactly :p but a 4 stack at that price is a steal compared to how they are normally on their own XD plus a 3 stack of the lx look weird unless your going to stack them on a table XD |

I researched getting vivs too, spent a lot of time looking at prices, dimensions of vivs etc etc but i just dont have the space to have or stack vivs, for me personally i plan to use rubs and for them i have the space to stack them, plus when i need to move up a size the rubs could be used for something else. Got my plan all worked out. |
Dakota ~ Bloodred Corn ~ Amber & Chloe ~ Cats Mind is changing on snakes I want now lol so am researching these to find out what would be best - Milk Snakes and Dwarf Boa possibly - Crawl Cay, Sonoran, Tarahumara or Vera Cruz and poss a Hoggie, African House and Rat snake. Also Trinket Snakes. |

sounds good James was harrassing me about vivs. As he said why have snakes if noone can see them. I said I wasn't bothered about people seeing them and that they were for me not them. Im still gonna do some researching before I decide what to do |

Personally i am not bothered about people seeing them, like you my snakes are for me and no one else, plus i think rubs are far more practical - they are easier to clean and when no longer needed can be reused for another purpose, something you can't do with vivs. |

Don't think I will have any more than 3 snakes in my collection, though as someone told 3 is an odd number so better with 4 lol |

At the moment I have 2 corns in a partitioned 3ft viv and another corn in a 45 square ET. Shortly there will also be a BRB in a rub. Ultimately, I'll have 3x 3ft vivs for the corns and (most likely) a 4ft with moisture protection for the BRB. All from Vivexotic so they match. I should be moving at some point in the next 12 months so shouldn't get any more until I know how much room I have left! lol |

I think vivs are great provided you have enough space for them, had my home been bigger having vivs would not be a problem, so stacking rubs suits me perfect |

Yup rubs are great but it does limit the size/type of snake you can get :( |

I know it does Lou, you wouldn't keep a huge big boa in a rub, but i wont be getting huge big snakes lol |

Not just that, if the snake is heavy bodied it is best to use a heat lamp rather than a heat mat :D
Even my small boa, a crawl cay will be in a viv later as they like to climb and I want to give her lots of vines and logs etc |

I plan to give mine lots of vines and logs too Lou and this can also be done in a rub and i know it is best to use a heat lamp rather than a heat mat with heavy bodied snakes but having queried about that i was told that a rub, housing say a crawl cay, sitting on top of a heat mat will have no probs with thermal blocking as the snake will not be directly on top of the heat mat. |
