Sorry about all the posts. I just want to organize my q and a for better results :)
Info: Tank has been set up for 2 days. Purchased probe thermometer. Bottom of tank says steady 77.5 degrees during the day. Humidity at 60 percent. Otis has blue eyes, so assuming hes going to shed in a few days.
Im asuming he isnt happy with this temperature, even though he is staying on the cool side of the tank all day (70 degrees).
Will this effect his health?

http://img848.imageshack.us/i/snake008.jpg/ what kind of wood is this? hope its not dangerous
I also went to 3 pet stores today, even one specializing in exotics. NO THERMOSTATS!!! I gotta order one on-line. until then, im monitoring the floor temp...Although it is still to cool :( Help? |

looks like orchard bark, id change it for aspen or arbos substrate hun
dont worry about him staying in the cool side all the time, i bet you he doesnt, the little boogers move when your not watching lol and looks like hes in blue, they will go clear after a cpl of days, then its just a waiting game for him to leave you a little prezzie of a nice shed
temp seems fine, go to the care sheet on this website to double check dont stress about the humidity, they are quite happy with normal household humidity levels, if you see him having trouble shedding, try putting a water bowl in the warm side so he and slither in and out of it, or get some spagnam moss from your local garden centre and make a little shed hide from a small lunch box, there is a good sticky on the forum for all shedding issues hun
cant wait to see a new shiny snake after his shed lol |

Be careful when using stuff from the garden, it needs sterilising and smoothing. Also there are some poisonous substances to avoid, this is a link to a list of pretty much all of them. http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2402 |
