I'd still go out and get a thermostat as soon as possible. The mat may be keeping a constant heat at the minute but if a fault developed that raised the temperatures you'd have no way of controlling this. A thermostat will stop it reaching a dangerous level. |

Is the temperature reading coming from either the surface of the heat mat if its inside the exclosure of the closest point to the mat if its underneath? Are you using a digital thermometer?
The thermostat is an essential piece of kit and needs to be fitted to your setup ASAP but I would also suggest that you get a direct reading from the mat and if its over 30oC/86oF then it also needs switching off until you have a stat. |

I would also question where and how you are reading the temps.
Heatmats without thermostats get very hot, too hot! |

oh and another question lol. whats a good humidity range for shedding. Its at 70. worried this is to high. what kind of damage can to much humidity do
also, i dont understand how just plugging in the heat source to an outlet on the thermostat will regulate temperature. Just by controlling wattage or amperage im assuming |
