Just been to Serpentus Exotics today for a good look etc and I must say I was really impressed, except with the crickets roaming around as they had escaped lol.

Had not only a really good chat with the chap who owns it but I also got my starter kit, got a couple of things to get which is no probs AND, this is the best bit, I got to handle 2 of their adult corns and it was AWESOMELY SUPERB, was prepared for a wee nip but not one.

I sooooooooooooo can't wait to get my baby corn and when i get it they'll spend a good while going over everything.

Dakota ~ Bloodred Corn ~ Amber & Chloe ~ Cats
Mind is changing on snakes I want now lol so am researching these to find out what would be best - Milk Snakes and Dwarf Boa possibly - Crawl Cay, Sonoran, Tarahumara or Vera Cruz and poss a Hoggie, African House and Rat snake. Also Trinket Snakes.

Oh forgot to say, I handled some of his baby corns too, the adults I handled were a normal and lilac, he told me exact names and I've forgotten, they were beautiful.

Don't know what type I'll get, maybe a normal or okeetee or lilac, or if he has a crimson or bloodred maybe one of them, he says he has so many babies around the time I'm looking to get mine I'll have a lot of good choices.

I'm a huge fan of the Okeetee's especially the Abbotts (a selective bred Okeetee that enhances the wide black borders around the saddles).

It won't be your last one! I started out with a little Carolina corn about 10 years ago, and we have 15 now

Hmm,be prepared to change your plans on how many you want as soon as you have your first.
It won't be long till you're at the top of the very slippery slope of snake addiction!!
I got Loki for my kids and he was going to be the only one. 10 weeks later I got Falcor for myself,I got a bloodred stripe delivered last night and have 2 house snakes reserved lol.
As for the excitement,I was jumping round the kitchen with my son when I found out the house snakes were mine a few weeks ago!

When I know a new snake is coming I suffer from the equivalent of jet-lag. I usually wake up at about 2 or 3 in the morning with my brain fizzing.
I think about everything to do with the reptile; temps, lighting, food, handling etc. It drives me nuts, but I can't help it.

Mamma - am like super excited already, think it's because am having to buy the set up in stages as not got enough pennies to buy the whole lot in one go and this site is fabulous and have really learned a lot in the weeks I've been researching.
