As i said last night i just got my first corn yesterday and i am over the moon with it. But since i got it am constantly checking and looking because im worried and slightly paranoid that ive not got things set up right in its cage, im constantly thinking that it doesnt look quiet right, or is there sumthing missing if you know wot i mean like is the heat mat in the right place or is the water bowl in the right place etc?

So basically my corn is 3 months old so i woz told by the woman i got it from so still a baby really, I got with it a small plastic starter tank with with sum kind of bark material for the flooring, A small water bowl, a heat mat and a small plastic tree like ornament with leaves and branches on, Is it common for first time corn owners 2 feel worried and cautious or is sumthing not quiet right pls help bcoz i wud reallt like 2 do the best for my new pet !!!! Thank u XX

I think most of us feel anxious about our first snake, I did. It's only natural that you want to get things right.
Have a look at the link above, read the caresheet on our homepage and then if you still have worries or concerns ask us for help.
It might be an idea to let us see some photos of your setup, then we can make suggestions if needed.
Hope that helps.

you could always post some pics up to see if there's any useful tweaks any forum members could come up with to make it perfect or put your mind at rest that you've done a good job?

Hiya Craig, I'll be the same as you when I get my new baby corn. Was at the shop today for my starter kit, was so impressed and the best bit was I actually handled 2 of his adult corns, was AWESOMELY SUPERB.

Dakota ~ Bloodred Corn ~ Amber & Chloe ~ Cats
Mind is changing on snakes I want now lol so am researching these to find out what would be best - Milk Snakes and Dwarf Boa possibly - Crawl Cay, Sonoran, Tarahumara or Vera Cruz and poss a Hoggie, African House and Rat snake. Also Trinket Snakes.

Hi craig and welcome, as GP has said some pictures of your setup would help people give advice, as to being worried and wanting to do the best for your new corn, I'd say thats the sign of a conscientious owner, and not a bad thing.

If it is just a heatmat you will need a thermostat asap as heatmats get far too hot without one.
