Hi, I heard that there used to be a page on this site where everyone can do a vivcam thing using their webcams and show it up on this site? Anybody know when it might be up? Thanks. |

| There has never been a facility for that on the forum. However for a while it was availablwe in the chatroom but since swapping servers it no longer exists. |

We were running on a different server then, the webcam facility was handy and a laugh but took a lot of work, so since the server change it hasn't been re-enabled and probably wont be.
We do have a couple webcams that are in my vivs are are usually broadcasting 24/7 or if you wanna broadcast your own to show your snake on, then several things can be used.
I use www.camstreams.com fo the webcam broadcasting and http://www.lundie.ca/fwink/ for my sig image which until a couple weeks ago was attached to a webcam that would image update every 30 seconds.
I shall have to plug that back in while I think about it. :D

Running camstreams with multiple streams can make a noticible difference on your bandwidth, it can often make a difference on how the machine runs as well, if you want to run one for any length of time, I'd recommend a dedicated machine.
I have a dedicated machine that has nothing plugged into it except for webcams and network cable, it controls the cameras and the bot. |

I can most certainly add it if you want, it'll be under the chat box.
All you'd have to do is once you've got it set up and running to email me : Kehhlyr[AT]weneedcake.co.uk with the embed code and I shall get it on there.
I may well change the layout of the page soon to have a specific page for the cameras if we get more on there. Means that people can then choose to have the cameras on or not. |

Is a brilliant little camera, lights have a dimmer switch built into the cable so they can be dimmed as well.
But they say 7 quid with free delivery, am kicking myself now.  |
