After placing a new snake in its enclosure do you have to wait a certain time to feed it or can you feed it straight away?

give him roughly a week to settle to his new surroundings hun

not a set in stone guide, but he will let you know when hes happy. mine ate two days in to settling, then i left them a week again

but every snake is different. check out the keeping guide on the site hun

it really doesn't hurt them to skip a feed

cornsnakes, ratsnakes, bullsnakes, boas and day geckos

I'd also suggest leaving for a week before trying to feed. Then you'll need to leave the snake alone for 48 hours to digest his meal.
